I'm going to miss these guys...

I'm happy but mostly sad to end the school year this coming week (the 29th).  This class was such a challenge but I really had a few little people who were so curious and whose personalities developed so much.

Awesome excerpt from class today (maybe I just think it's awesome because I know them, but really, they're funny):

Background: The kids got to do a bit of student teaching.  One girl taught about probability of events and probability of two events happening together, and how to find that.  She let the others make up their own problems:

Boy: Mrs. Rose, I have a serious question but I don't know if you'll be able to answer it.

Me: Yes, A---?

Boy: Well, do you know what the mail is?

Me: The mail? Like letters that come to your mailbox?

Boy: Yes, the mail.

Me: I do happen to know a bit about it.

Boy: Oh, really? I thought this would be harder to explain.  Well, do you know if it comes every day?

Me: Yes I do know.  It comes every day but Sunday--so 6/7 of the week.

Awesome.  I couldn't help smile to myself. What a wonderful little guy.  He is soooo smart too!  But really they think I'm so far off from them!

Here's another great recent quote:

Background: Playing a movie game where kids guess a movie title another student thought of.

One girl decided on "Pee-Wee Herman"

Classmate: When did it come out?

Girl: Geez. I don't know.  Like the 1900's.  My mom watched it while she grew up.
