I'm Thankful
I'm thankful for:
Talents that I have. Teaching, reading, an eye for color, organizing, dancing, taking pictures.
Happiness. I'm grateful that happily is an adverb I attempt to apply to every action.
Apartment. I've learned enough from country songs that, at some point, I'm going to miss this wonderful place.
Nice enough husband to encourage me to put up decorations for Christmas more than a month early.
Kids. How would I learn anything if I didn't have my students to give me opportunities to improve every day?
Spouse. Really, I always thought it was cliche and impossible when people said that their husband made them a better person. Who knew all the things Barrett could teach me?
Gospel. I love the clarity of God's plan for us. Following the Savior guides every action I take, and knowing where I'd like to end up helps put the little things in perspective.
Ikea. I'm sure our home would still be empty if that place didn't exist. Plus I like to change things around so much, it's probably better if our furniture isn't too expensive :)
Vitality. Noun. The state of being strong and active. Energy.
ISFJ. I'm thankful to know and appreciate who I am, and use my strengths to help people. And I'm happy to have things like this that can help me put my feelings into words.
Novels. Mostly historical fiction. Without books I wouldn't be able to feel like I've traveled to places I otherwise wouldn't get to go, experienced a myriad of emotions I otherwise wouldn't face, and gone back into times I otherwise couldn't encounter.
Green Bean Casserole. Does this need an explanation? Could Thanksgiving go on without it?
I hope this helps you take a second or two to realize what you're truly thankful for :)
"This is a wonderful time to be living here on earth. Our opportunities are limitless. While there are some things wrong in the world today, there are many things right, such as teachers who teach, ministers who minister, marriages that make it, parents who sacrifice, and friends who help."
"We can lift ourselves, and others as well, when we refuse to remain in the realm of negative thought and cultivate within our hearts an attitude of gratitude. If ingratitude be numbered among the serious sins, then gratitude takes its place among the noblest of virtues."
- President Thomas S. Monson
