Procrastination at Its Finest

So last year at the end of June we moved into our new apartment. Within the two weeks after that, we furnished it and unpacked and all that jazz. One day, without the help of Barrett, I bought a double curtain rod to hang in our room. No less than 20 seconds after I screwed it into the drywall, all the holes were stripped. Luckily, I found this little metal hook that you screw into the wall in the center, that kind of acts like an extra lever. In our case, the rods were pushing down so hard on it that it couldn't even come out of the wall. Every day this year I have worried that it would fall down the moment it was touched.

I am proud to say that this morning, 13 months later, I dug around in our box of extra IKEA parts, and found two wall anchors, one for each side. Though there are 5 screws total, I figured we'd give these two bad boys a shot. We managed to shatter one of the anchors, but luckily it shattered in the wall, so it still worked! What a sturdy set of curtains we have now. We didn't even use the extra lever.

haha. I'm sure it's hard for your readers to imagine how unstable your curtains were. they were REALLY UNSTABLE. glad you fixed them up and hope they're less likely to fall down now!
