So so humorous

So on Sunday we had the house all clean because Barrett's brother was coming up for dinner and we were all ready to watch the Superbowl. Naturally when I started cleaning one thing it led to a massive cleaning streak including laundry. Then I asked Barrett to do one last thing, put a suitcase in our outside storage unit. I'm in the bedroom arranging some last thing and I hear a huge crash. He comes in, with Taylor who has now arrived, and I say, "Did something make a huge crash out there?" He assures me, yes, it was just things being moved around out in the hall.

About 30 seconds later we walk into the kitchen and Taylor says something along the lines of "I think we found the results of the crash." I walk in only to find at least half the floor covered, absolutely covered, with blue laundry detergent, which is slowly spreading. Thankfully, because of its somewhat high viscosity, it hadn't yet spread under our pantry door, washer, or refrigerator. All I could do was burst out laughing. It just seemed like such a mess I could never clean it up. After a good bout of laughter and a bit of brainstorming Barrett ran to get our pool towels. I sopped up the detergent, but then left it laying there until today, Wednesday, because I was so unsure how to clean a towel that was completely saturated in detergent.

The COSTCO sized thing of detergent must have slowly scooted off the washer due to its vibrations; it's the only explanation I can think of. I figured I couldn't put the towels in the washer because there is a "Max" limit to how much can go in that little sucker. I just kept picturing foam seeping out of the door.

The following is a picture of the solution I turned to:

I'll need to repeat this a few more times, but I'm thinking I will achieve eventual success. Hilarious, sticky, blue debacle.

I love your Rascal Flatts lyrical quote on the sidebar. How long has that been there?!
