Nieces
We are pretending to be scared. Sadie's suggestion :)
Geez. Our nieces are great. We got to babysit them tonight and I basically didn't stop smiling or laughing. And they love taking pictures. So here were are.
Chloe is 9. She's at such a wonderful age because she is old enough to have great conversations with. We think similarly so it's nice to be around her and really talk about interesting things. She's gotten so mature and responsible and I'm glad we live so close. The following, however, is NOT an example of one of our deep conversations. :)
Chloe: I love the turkey gravy but don't tell anyone at school because everyone says it's gross.
Barrett: Let's play a game.
Chloe: But I haven't finished telling Barrett everything they serve for lunch at our school!
Piper is 6. She came up behind me while I was sitting on the step and gave me a little squeeze hug and gently played with my hair. I didn't even have to guess which one of them it was. She's an actual angel child. Sadly we got no pictures of Piper because once it was bedtime she got too worried about bad dreams.
Situation: Eating dinner on porch discussing relative size of ants to pizza vs. humans to huge food.
Piper: Once there was a little ant and a boy who was talking to him. (A book we read to them, I'm glad she remembers.)
Sadie: I would step on him. I don't like ants.
Allie: But then he wouldn't be able to feed his family.
Sadie (after ponderous thought): Oh wow. That is a really good thing to think about. It might be a better choice to let him go.
Sadie is 4, 5 in a few weeks. Geez is she cute. But it's hard to say that when they all just charm you with their smiles. She's gotten so smart and says the funniest things all the time. She really thinks hard about things and has a wonderful perspective.
Tessa is 2, 3 in a few weeks. I couldn't take my eyes off her all night. Between saying funny things, repeating everything she heard, and being downright cute doing nothing more than being alive, every second was filled.
We started out with basic jumping on the mini-tramp. Any two year old in jeggings on a tramp is surprisingly fun to watch.
We ended up learning a few moves and by the end she could do three things at once. Aunt Allie has high expectations. What skill I saw. My kind of multi-tasking.
I can't get the videos to work which are my favorite part, but I'll add them if I figure out how!

Please know your nieces are equally as crazy about you! Thank you for being so wonderful with them. They are lucky girls.
