The Longest Day...
... was today. I woke up already a bit tired from a night of parent teacher conferences yesterday. It took me a long time to get ready, which made my peaceful morning routine seem like it took forever. I got to school and my mind was scattered; I got about nothing done as I gleefully listened to Shakira. I spent more time than needed attempting to place kids in groups with their friends for the field trip, then I lost my notebook by the time I needed to read them their groups. The bus driver didn't read the 10 flashing signs that said EB I-215 closed, so he had to take WB I-215 and drove IN A CIRCLE ALL THE WAY AROUND BY THE AIRPORT and then took I-80 East to get up to Salt Lake, right by the zoo :) It was nice to see that I'm a calm enough person that this delay didn't phase me at all. Our day at This is the Place Heritage Park was just delightful. Filled with pulling handcarts, a fake 1867 school hour, and a bit of square dancing with my 3'8" boys and 5'2" girls. After a wonderful day, a breezy drive home on the bus, a lattice multiplication math lesson (check it out), and more conferences I made it home. Though it was 7:30, I thought it was 10. We skipped our New Testament class. It is now 9:45. I just started crying over I don't know what. And I'm going to bed.

p.s. I heard The Red tent is amazing and beautifully written. You'll have to share your thoughts so I can figure out if I should at it to my list.
